Sim Racing League

Trillium Members!

You are invited to attend the BMW CCA Trillium Chapter winter Racing Simulator series in person at HIP Motorsports!  We are limited to 20 spots, so 1st come 1st serve.  This is a 5-week championship starting on Tuesday February 4th and running 5 Tuesdays in a row.  The event will start at 6:15pm for early practice and 6:45pm for late practice.  You will get one 25-minute practice and two 25-minute races including a separate qualifying session for each race.  We can have 10 drivers race in each session and we will group like skills together.  So don’t worry if you’ve never sim raced before we have you covered in the novice group.  And if you are an alien sim racer we also, have you covered with top level competition!

Cost is $300.00 + h.s.t. for all 5 weeks.  Which works out to only $60.00/night.  A far greater value than go-karting and way more track time.  A typical go-karting session is 4 minutes, and you are provided with 3 of those each week for a total of 12 minutes of drive time.  In a simulator you get 3 x 25-minute sessions.  You will be driving high quality triple screen racing simulators.

Food and beverage service will be open during the events.

Racing will be broadcast on Twitch.tv/hipmotorsports with commentator Chad Webster calling the races.  Folks from home can watch or spectators are encouraged to watch live from our lounge!

The event will be wrapped up by 10pm after the podium ceremony.

HIP Motorsports is located at 458 Fairall St Unit 8 (around back of building) in Ajax.  At the corner of Westney and the 401.  We are across the street from the GO Station.

Anyone who has a racing simulator at home with an iRacing account who would prefer to race from home can.  The cost to join is $25.00 for the 5 weeks plus h.s.t.  Once registered you will be contacted via email to join the league and Discord server.

Required equipment to participate from home:

  • Sim Racing equipment. You will require a computer (PC) that can support sim racing, along with a steering wheel and pedals (gaming controllers can be used, but we do not recommend this). Voice communication with all drivers is necessary, so you must have a built-in or plugged-in microphone set up on your computer. A headset with an integrated microphone is the most effective setup. Just like with real-life motorsports, your equipment costs can vary widely depending on what you want/need and there are many options. If you aren’t sure if you have what’s needed, please visit the iRacing System Requirements page at https://www.iracing.com/membership/system-requirements/
  • An iRacing account. If you don’t already have an iRacing account, please go to https://www.iRacing.com and register. New Members can currently enjoy up to 50% off the full cost. You can go month-to-month or sign up for a longer period to enjoy a lower monthly cost. Please note that there are additional charges for certain cars and tracks, but those are a one-time cost.
  • A Discord account. This is the platform we use to communicate with all of the drivers. You can register for a free account here. Please note down what your display name is to ensure you are allowed into the Discord server
